What is Vave?
Vave is a crypto casino and sportsbook launched in 2022, known for a very large game lobby and big crypto welcome offers. Its X account, opened in August 2022, advertises a bonus of up to 4 BTC. It is also one of the few crypto casinos on our list with a large regulator fine on record: EUR 3,082,000 from the Dutch Kansspelautoriteit in June 2026. The website is vave.com.
- Launched: 2022, per AskGamblers and its X account's start date.
- Operator: the Dutch regulator's fine names Chestoption Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada, a Costa Rica company, as the business behind vave.com; AskGamblers lists Neomatrix LTD.
- Licence: Anjouan, according to CryptoSlate and AskGamblers; no licence number is published and we could not verify it on a register.
- Coins: BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC, DOGE, TRX, USDT and ADA, with XRP also listed by AskGamblers, as of October 2026.
- KYC: not required to sign up; reviewers report checks on larger withdrawals or flagged activity.
- Games: CryptoSlate counts 16,900+ games from 80+ providers, plus a sportsbook.
- UK and US: no UK Gambling Commission licence; the US is on its restricted list.
- Our rating: Poor.
Our rating: Poor
A huge game lobby, but the Dutch regulator fined its operator EUR 3.08 million in 2026 for unlicensed gambling after a penalty order, its Anjouan licence cannot be verified and its ownership is opaque.
We rate crypto casinos from public sources only: the licence and what it covers, who owns it, what players report about withdrawals and complaints, how clear its terms are and how long it has been trading. Last reviewed 20 October 2026. How we rate crypto casinos.
History and ownership
Vave launched in 2022 under a Curaçao sublicence, CryptoSlate reports, and in 2024 the brand passed from a Curaçao-registered operator to a Costa Rica-registered one. Neither side has said publicly whether that was a sale or a re-registration. Costa Rica registers companies but does not license or supervise online gambling, so the move did not bring a gaming licence with it.
The company named in the Dutch regulator's June 2026 decision is Chestoption Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada, which the Kansspelautoriteit says is established in Costa Rica. AskGamblers lists a different name, Neomatrix LTD, and Vave does not publish its directors or owners, so who ultimately runs the casino is not transparent.
According to CryptoSlate, the same two companies also stand behind the casinos Hell Spin and Ivibet. That link has shown up in public: in September 2022 Australia's media regulator, the ACMA, issued a formal warning to TechOptions Group B.V. of Curaçao for providing the Hell Spin service to Australians in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act. And a Vave reply to a Trustpilot review in September 2026 referred to the customer's account at "IviBet".
Games and sportsbook
Breadth is Vave's main selling point. CryptoSlate counts more than 16,900 games, other reviews give figures from 7,000 to over 10,000, and AskGamblers lists more than 80 providers, including Play'n GO, Playtech, NetEnt, Yggdrasil, Spribe, Evoplay, Booming Games, Pragmatic Play and Nolimit City, with Evolution supplying live tables.
We cover many recent releases from two of those studios, for example Sweet Bonanza 2500, Big Bass Vegas 1000 and Tombstone Begins. Whether a given title appears in Vave's lobby depends on your country and changes often.
The sportsbook covers about 20 sports, including football, tennis, basketball and esports, with bet builder, live betting, early cash-out and live streaming. CryptoSlate measured a 3.0% margin on Champions League match-result markets. The Dutch regulator noted Vave advertised betting on the Eredivisie, which it counted as evidence of targeting Dutch players. Vave sits in our crypto sportsbooks and crypto slots casinos lists.
Deposits, withdrawals and KYC in practice
Vave is crypto-only for withdrawals. AskGamblers lists BTC, BCH, ETH, USDT, LTC, DOGE, XRP and TRX, no bank or card withdrawals, no fees from the casino, pending times of up to 72 hours and crypto payouts in up to 12 hours once approved. Deposits can also be made through MoonPay.
Its terms let it split big wins. The Dutch decision quotes clause 8.8: for a win of 50,000 USDT or more, Vave may in exceptional cases pay in equal parts within 30 days. Crypto Adventure's June 2026 review says deposits must be turned over three times in the casino or once in the sportsbook before withdrawal, or a fee may apply.
Vave does not ask for documents at sign-up. Reviews report that checks are triggered by larger withdrawals, which Crypto Adventure puts at cumulative withdrawals above EUR 2,000, or by suspicious patterns; documents can include photo ID, proof of address and a selfie, and The Spike reports a 14-day window to respond before an account may be closed. The Kansspelautoriteit found no visible age verification at all during its checks.
Player reports lean negative. Trustpilot reviews from July to October 2026 describe pending withdrawals, one approved withdrawal reportedly returned to the casino balance, deposits not credited and templated support replies. A smaller number report smooth payouts. AskGamblers complaints describe similar verification holds and are all marked resolved.
Licence and safety
Vave's licence is the weakest part of its profile. CryptoSlate and AskGamblers both name the Anjouan Gaming Board in the Comoros, but no licence number is published and CryptoSlate notes the site names no regulator, so we could not check it against a register. Treat Vave as claiming an Anjouan licence, not as confirmed licensed.
Even if confirmed, Anjouan is an offshore licence with limited routes for player disputes and lighter oversight than Curaçao's reformed regime, let alone the UK Gambling Commission or the Malta Gaming Authority. We found no independent audit of Vave's games or finances, no proof of reserves and no provably fair system for in-house games. Third-party slots rely on their providers' own certification.
On the positive side, we found no record of a hack or a loss of player funds, and the casino has kept trading and paying many players since 2022.
Bonuses and VIP
Vave's headline offer, per its X bio as of October 2026, is a welcome bonus of up to 4 BTC. CryptoSlate lists the wagering at 50x the bonus and 40x free-spin winnings, and says sports bonuses unlock in instalments as you bet. Crypto Adventure describes a separate sportsbook match of 100% up to 1 BTC with lower turnover than the casino offer.
Requirements of 40x to 50x are steep: on a bonus of 1,000 dollars, 50x means 50,000 dollars of bets before it can be withdrawn. AskGamblers shows one complaint about a balance confiscated after a birthday bonus, which the casino attributed to suspicious activity. Read the bonus terms in full, and remember that wagering rules make most bonuses worth far less than their headline figure.
Complaints, controversies and what has gone wrong
Vave carries a documented regulator action, which is the main reason for our rating. The Kansspelautoriteit's decision of 9 June 2026 sets out the timeline:
- 27 May 2024: the regulator examines vave.com and finds Dutch players can sign up, deposit and play, with no blocking, though the Netherlands sat on Vave's own excluded-countries list.
- 22 July 2024: notice of an intended penalty order. On 19 August 2024 vave.com redirects to vave-luck.com; a third domain later carries the same offer.
- 18 December 2024: a penalty order of EUR 280,000 a week, up to EUR 840,000, to stop serving the Netherlands.
- April to June 2025: checks find the site still open to Dutch players. On 5 September 2025 the regulator moves to collect the EUR 840,000 forfeited.
- 22 January 2026: still accessible from the Netherlands.
- 9 June 2026: a fine of EUR 3,082,000 for offering gambling without a licence, raised for inactivity fees, anonymous crypto payments, autoplay and no visible age verification. The regulator estimated Chestoption's 2025 worldwide net revenue at EUR 138.8 million from search volumes, because the company supplied no figures.
CasinoBeats reported on 18 June 2026 that Chestoption did not respond to the investigation or the draft fine and had not paid the earlier penalty; the company could still object. We found no public reply from Vave.
- Trustpilot: 1.6 out of 5 from 213 reviews as of 20 October 2026, 64% one-star and 24% five-star. Vave replied to 77% of negative reviews, typically after more than a month. Themes from July to October 2026: delayed or reversed withdrawals, uncredited deposits, rejected bets blocking wagering, and two reviews in August 2026 alleging a closed or self-excluded account was not honoured.
- AskGamblers: 25 complaints, 24 marked resolved, CasinoRank 8/10 and a player rating of 9.1/10 from 139 reviews. Complaints describe withdrawal holds, unanswered verification, a confiscated bonus balance and an ignored self-exclusion request; outcomes are not described.
- Australia: the ACMA's September 2022 formal warning to TechOptions Group B.V. concerned Hell Spin, a sister brand, not Vave itself.
The good and the bad, and our verdict
The good
- One of the largest game lobbies on the market, with major providers and a full sportsbook.
- Crypto withdrawals with no casino fees, and some players report fast payouts.
- Most AskGamblers complaints are marked resolved and its player rating there is high.
- Trading since 2022 with no record of a hack.
The bad
- A EUR 3,082,000 fine from the Dutch regulator in June 2026, after it kept serving Dutch players despite a penalty order and EUR 840,000 in forfeited penalties.
- An Anjouan licence with no published number that we could not verify.
- Ownership is opaque, with two different company names reported.
- A 1.6 Trustpilot score with recurring reports of delayed withdrawals.
- Heavy 40x to 50x bonus wagering and a clause allowing large wins to be paid in instalments.
Our verdict: Poor. Vave's game selection is impressive, and plenty of players do get paid. But a regulator has documented in detail that its operator kept offering unlicensed gambling, without visible age checks, after being ordered to stop, and has fined it more than EUR 3 million. Add a licence we cannot verify, unclear ownership and a weak Trustpilot record, and we cannot rate it higher. It is on our crypto casinos to be careful with list.
Vave for UK readers
Vave holds no UK Gambling Commission licence, and a casino must hold one to offer gambling to people in Great Britain. We could not open Vave's own terms to confirm whether the UK is on its excluded list, and the copy CryptoSlate publishes does not include it; either way, it is not a lawful option for UK players. Offshore sites like this sit outside GAMSTOP self-exclusion and outside UKGC protections such as dispute resolution and age and affordability checks.
Crypto carries its own risks: balances move with the market, blockchain transfers are final, and crypto casinos usually pay out in the coin you deposited. Bonuses carry wagering rules. FAQs
Is Vave legit?
Vave is a real casino that has traded since 2022 and pays many players, but we rate it Poor. The Dutch regulator fined its operator EUR 3,082,000 in June 2026 for offering unlicensed gambling after a penalty order, its Anjouan licence has no published number we could verify, and its Trustpilot score was 1.6 out of 5 in October 2026.
Why was Vave fined in the Netherlands?
The Kansspelautoriteit found that Chestoption, the company behind vave.com, let Dutch players sign up, deposit and play without a Dutch licence and without blocking them. It ignored a December 2024 penalty order, forfeiting EUR 840,000, and on 9 June 2026 was fined EUR 3,082,000, raised because of crypto payments, autoplay, inactivity fees and no visible age verification.
How long do Vave withdrawals take?
AskGamblers lists pending times of up to 72 hours and crypto payouts within 12 hours once approved, and some players report quick withdrawals. Recent Trustpilot reviews, however, describe withdrawals left pending for days, one reversed to the casino balance, and verification holds. Wins of 50,000 USDT or more may be paid in instalments over up to 30 days.
Does Vave require KYC?
Not at sign-up. Reviews report that Vave asks for verification on larger withdrawals, which one review puts above EUR 2,000 in cumulative withdrawals, or when activity is flagged. Documents can include photo ID, proof of address and a selfie, and The Spike reports players have 14 days to respond before an account may be closed.
Can UK players use Vave?
Vave has no UK Gambling Commission licence, which any operator offering gambling to people in Great Britain needs, so it is not a lawful option for UK players. Offshore crypto casinos are also outside GAMSTOP and UKGC protections such as dispute resolution and age checks, so UK readers should stick to UK-licensed sites.
Who owns Vave?
Ownership is not transparent. The Dutch regulator's 2026 fine names Chestoption Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada, a Costa Rica company, while AskGamblers lists Neomatrix LTD. CryptoSlate reports the brand moved from a Curaçao operator to the Costa Rica company in 2024 and that the same firms run Hell Spin and Ivibet. Vave publishes no directors or owners.
