What are crypto sportsbooks and esports betting?

A crypto sportsbook takes bets on sport, and often esports, in cryptocurrency. Most of the five we cover pair it with a casino, so one balance covers both. It differs from a high street or licensed UK bookmaker in the payment method and, importantly, in the regulator.

The offer varies. Fair Gambling lists Stake as a sportsbook as well as a casino. Casinos.org says Rollbit's sportsbook launched on 20 March 2022, covers more than 100 sports by Rollbit's own count, and offers combo and system bets and cash-out on some markets. Mega Dice's site names League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, eSoccer and NBA 2K among its esports. CryptoSlate lists around two dozen sports at Betpanda with Bet Builder, Early Cashout and live betting. We could not verify the sportsbook details of BC.Game from the pages we opened.

How to choose

Read the cash-out and settlement rules. Cash-out is offered "on some markets" at Rollbit, so check the market in question. Rules on voided bets, suspended markets and event postponements decide disputes more than any promotion does.

Check limits. Winning bettors are where restrictions bite. Trustpilot reviewers of Rollbit describe withdrawals held after wins and bans with funds forfeited; reviewers of Betpanda describe confiscated balances. Both are unverified, and the casinos say closures follow their terms.

Check restricted countries yourself. Casinos.org lists 29 restricted places for Rollbit, including the UK, Germany, France, Spain and the United States, and says it treats using a VPN to get round them as a breach. We do not suggest ways round any block. CryptoSlate's summary of Betpanda's list names the United States, France, Sweden and Australia among others.

Check the licence on the register. The Curaçao Gaming Authority shows Stake's operator, Medium Rare N.V., as active under licence OGL/2024/1451/0918. Casinos.org says Rollbit's futures product sits outside its gaming licence, and that its footer says crypto trading is not gambling, so the protections differ between products.

The risks

For UK readers the position is simple. The Gambling Commission guidance says offering gambling in Great Britain without a licence is "acting illegally". None of the five states a UK licence in the pages we read. A UK-licensed bookmaker is covered by GAMSTOP and the Commission's rules; these sites are not. Intergame reported in February 2026 that the Commission was taking a "tentative first step" on crypto payments at licensed operators, tied to an FCA regime expected from October 2027, but nothing has changed for these casinos.

Crypto itself carries risk. The FCA warns that cryptoassets "tend to be very volatile", that it is "highly unlikely" you would be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, and that you should be prepared to lose all your money. Transfers are final: send to the wrong address or network and nobody can reverse it.

Odds are priced to win for the house. A bookmaker's margin means a stream of bets loses over time, and live betting speeds the losses. Esports markets can be thinner and more volatile than football. Gambling is for over-18s, and wins are not income.

Bonuses carry wagering rules that decide whether bonus money ever becomes cash. Gambling is for over-18s, wins are not income, and free confidential support is available from BeGambleAware and GambleAware.

How the casinos we cover compare

Stake is Mixed. Its Curaçao licence is active and Trustpilot showed 3.9 from 12,177 reviews on 20 October 2026, replying to 99% of negative ones, which cite deposits not credited. Finance Magnates reported on 28 September 2026 that leaked regulator files showed large payments to entities linked to its founders, and The Block reported the FBI attributing a $41 million theft from the site in September 2023 to the Lazarus Group.

Rollbit is Poor. Its Curaçao record for Bull Gaming N.V. reads revoked, it now cites an Anjouan licence, and Trustpilot gave it 1.6 from 4,139 reviews, with replies to about 18% of negative ones. Positive reviews praise fast withdrawals and frequent promotions.

BC.Game is Poor. The Curaçao Chronicle reported in November 2024 that two former operators were declared bankrupt over unpaid player claims, and BC.GAME said in March 2026 that an attacker took about $4.33 million through a third-party game.

Mega Dice and Betpanda are Poor. Mega Dice says it is fully licensed but names no regulator on its homepage, and Trustpilot shows no score for either, citing a guidelines breach and removed fake reviews. CryptoSlate reports Betpanda's terms say it operates under no domestic licensing regime.

None of these sportsbooks is a replacement for a licensed UK bookmaker, and none has a regulator able to settle a disputed bet in the way the Commission's approved dispute services can.

FAQs

Can UK players bet at crypto sportsbooks?

Not legally with these operators: a business needs a Gambling Commission licence to offer betting in Great Britain, and none of these five states one. Rollbit lists the UK as restricted, and UK players have no GAMSTOP or UKGC dispute protections.

Do crypto sportsbooks offer esports betting?

Often. Mega Dice's site names League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, eSoccer and NBA 2K, and Betpanda has been reported to offer esports. We could not confirm the sportsbook details of every casino we cover.

What should I check about cash-out and limits?

Read the rules for the specific market, because Rollbit offers cash-out only on some. Also check withdrawal caps and what happens after a big win: reviewers on Trustpilot describe held withdrawals at some sites, which the casinos dispute.

Are crypto sportsbook winnings guaranteed to be paid?

No. Withdrawals can be delayed by identity checks, and some casinos are reported to have closed accounts after wins. These are reports, not findings. Offshore licences give players limited routes to dispute a bet.

Which of these casinos has the best record?

Stake is the only one with a Mixed rating among those with a sportsbook that we cover; the rest are Poor. Stake has an active Curaçao licence but faces ownership questions reported on 28 September 2026.

18+ only. Gambling can be addictive; set limits and never chase losses. Free, confidential support: BeGambleAware.
