MetaWin review: licence, withdrawals, complaints and verdict

A wallet-first Ethereum casino with a clean-looking Trustpilot score, an offshore licence, a $4 million hack in its history and a token it says is not its own.

What is MetaWin?

MetaWin is a wallet-based crypto casino and prize platform that markets itself around Ethereum smart-contract prize draws, and the public record on it is mixed: a high Trustpilot score and a long list of loyalty promotions on one side, a $4 million hot-wallet hack in November 2024 and a licence that sits offshore on the other. This review is written from public sources only. We have not played there, and every figure below is dated.

  • Launched: 2022 (CryptoSlate company profile).
  • Operator: Rivolo Limited, a Nevis company numbered C62588, according to CryptoSlate and the footer details in our notes. AskGamblers still lists Asobi N.V. as the operator, so the legal name has changed or the sources disagree.
  • Licence: Anjouan (Union of the Comoros) licence ALSI-202602025-FI1 as stated on the site and repeated by CryptoSlate. We could not open the Anjouan register itself, so treat it as the casino's statement.
  • Coins: ETH, BTC, DOGE, SHIB, PEPE, BONK and WIF per our notes, as of 1 November 2026.
  • KYC: wallet connection instead of a classic account, with identity checks still possible under the terms.
  • Games: slots, table games, Plinko, Crash, Mines and Dice, plus prize competitions.
  • UK and US: both listed as restricted countries by CryptoSlate and by Complete Sports.
  • Our rating: Mixed.

Our rating: Mixed

MetaWin has strong Trustpilot scores and a founder who covered a $4 million 2024 hack, but an offshore licence, conflicting operator names, unresolved complaints and no proof of reserves keep it at Mixed.

We rate crypto casinos from public sources only: the licence and what it covers, who owns it, what players report about withdrawals and complaints, how clear its terms are and how long it has been trading. Last reviewed 1 November 2026. How we rate crypto casinos.

History and ownership

MetaWin went live in 2022, and CryptoSlate names its founder and chief executive as Richard Skelhorn, who it says previously built the affiliate business Atemi Group and sold it to Better Collective in October 2020 in a deal worth up to 44 million euros. That is a public business fact reported by CryptoSlate and we have not checked it against filings.

The operator details have moved. CryptoSlate says the brand first ran under a Curaçao licensing arrangement and moved to its Anjouan licence in 2024, and it names Rivolo Limited of Charlestown, Nevis, as the operator today. AskGamblers still shows Asobi N.V. as operator and the Anjouan Gaming Board as licensor. A player filing a dispute needs to know which company is on the terms they accepted, and the conflict between the two listings is a reason to read the current terms page before depositing.

MetaWin has also attracted token activity that is not its own. In March 2026 a community token called $METAWIN was put on presale by an issuer named in the announcement as TropiChain Inc. of Panama. The announcement, republished on HackerNoon, says MetaWin.com is an independent ecosystem partner and is not the issuer or sponsor of the token, and that it expects to offer voluntary community benefits to holders. It also claims $350,000 was raised in under 12 hours. That is a paid press release that HackerNoon says it only checked for grammar, so the figure is unverified. The same text says the tokens carry no governance or revenue rights and that holders could lose all their capital. A casino review is not the place to judge a token, but players should know the two are described as separate.

Games and sportsbook

CryptoSlate counts more than 5,283 games at MetaWin, spanning slots, table games and crypto-native titles such as Plinko, Crash, Mines and Dice. AskGamblers lists Pragmatic Play, Evolution and NetEnt among the providers and notes more than 300 instant-win games. We cover many Pragmatic Play releases on this site, for example Sweet Bonanza POP, but we are not saying that any particular slot is on MetaWin; check the lobby.

What sets MetaWin apart is the prize-draw model. CryptoSlate describes signature competitions that run on Ethereum smart contracts with public entries and winner selection, and the brand is built around its MetaWinners NFT collection. AskGamblers calls it an excellent destination for people who like playing in crypto and collecting NFTs, and otherwise an average crypto casino. AskGamblers also records that RNG testing is "No" and that RTP is not publicly audited, so the claim that smart-contract draws are fair rests on the code being public rather than on a lab certificate. We have not read that code.

MetaWin has no sportsbook that we could confirm from the sources we opened.

Deposits, withdrawals and KYC in practice

Players connect a crypto wallet instead of registering a conventional account, according to CryptoSlate, which also says withdrawals are instant and that no bonus wagering requirement is listed. The picture from players is less tidy. AskGamblers notes a $10 minimum withdrawal, says withdrawal fees apply, and reports that the terms cap crypto-wallet swaps at 5 ETH a day with a 0.005 ETH fee per transaction. The same review says pending times can reach four days in its text while its details table lists 0 to 24 hours, so the speed is not consistent even inside one review. You can buy crypto on site with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, per AskGamblers.

On Trustpilot MetaWin scored 3.9 out of 5 from 401 reviews as of 1 November 2026, with 253 of those in the last 12 months, 63 per cent five-star and 31 per cent one-star. The one-star reviews we could read mention a 1x wagering requirement on deposits that blocked a player's funds, accounts closed without notice, daily rewards that carry wagering and rule changes made without warning. Trustpilot says MetaWin replied to 28 per cent of negative reviews. Those are individual accounts and Trustpilot does not verify them.

On KYC, treat "wallet connect" as a sign-up style, not a promise of no checks. CryptoSlate says the operator may still run identity checks under its terms, which is standard for a licensed operator and often triggered at withdrawal. We found no independent source describing how often it happens.

Licence and safety

An Anjouan licence is an offshore licence. A player has fewer formal routes to a dispute decision than under a regulator like the UK Gambling Commission, and AskGamblers records no independent RNG testing for the games. We opened no register page for ALSI-202602025-FI1, so we cannot say what it covers beyond the casino's own statement. We are not calling MetaWin safe or unsafe: the evidence is a licence number and an operator name, not an audit of reserves.

We found no proof-of-reserves page or third-party solvency audit in the sources we opened. That matters because of the hack below: an on-chain casino holds balances in hot wallets, and when those are drained the question is who pays.

AskGamblers also says responsible gambling information is limited. It lists self-exclusion and a self-assessment test but no deposit, loss, wager or session limits.

Bonuses and VIP

MetaWin's offers are mostly loyalty and prize-based. A sponsored press release distributed through CryptoSlate in April 2026 says it will return more than $13 million to players through Cashdrops, weekly competitions, monthly races and holder-only NFT prizes. The listed items include a $4 million single-day Cashdrop, $150,000 a week in Friday Fire prizes and $1 million monthly race leaderboards across April, May and June. CryptoSlate itself says it is not responsible for the accuracy, and the headline total only adds up if recurring prizes run for many weeks, which the release does not specify.

Read that as marketing, not a record of payouts. CryptoSlate's profile also mentions MetaMax loyalty ranks that it says never decay. Any bonus carries conditions, and Trustpilot reviewers report that rewards come with wagering, so read the terms before accepting one. We do not list promo codes.

Complaints, controversies and what has gone wrong

The biggest documented event is the hack. Casino.org reported on 5 November 2024 that MetaWin's Ethereum and Solana hot wallets were drained of about $4 million of player funds, which investigator ZachXBT linked to more than 115 addresses and which moved quickly to KuCoin and a nested wallet at HitBTC. Founder Richard Skelhorn confirmed the hack on 3 November, said the attacker used a "frictionless withdrawal system", promised to cover the loss personally and said the casino had begun topping off affected customers. CryptoSlate adds that withdrawals were paused and then restored for most users, and that affected balances were made whole. We found no report contradicting that, but also no independent audit confirming it.

On complaint sites the record is thin but unresolved. AskGamblers lists three complaints, none resolved, covering a restricted account with a claimed $38,000 balance, about $380 of missing Sweepstakes Coins after crypto purchases and a closed account with a claimed 400 USDC. Those are player claims. AskGamblers also marks support as poor, with no live chat and help through Discord tickets, and notes complaint replies are targeted within five business days. Its summary of player feedback praises fast deposits and withdrawals but flags slow support and less generous promotions over time.

CryptoSlate rates the casino 5.5, which it labels Fair. We found no regulator action, court case or police finding against MetaWin in the sources we opened.

The good and the bad

The good

  • A 3.9 Trustpilot score from 401 reviews, with the company replying to some negative ones.
  • The 2024 hack loss was reported as covered by the founder.
  • Transparent, on-chain prize draws, if the contract code holds up.
  • A $10 minimum withdrawal.

The bad

  • A $4 million hot-wallet breach and no proof-of-reserves page found.
  • An offshore Anjouan licence and conflicting operator names between sources.
  • Three unresolved complaints on AskGamblers and reports of closed accounts on Trustpilot.
  • Withdrawal fees, no live chat and limited responsible gambling tools.

Our verdict

We rate MetaWin Mixed. The public record shows a four-year-old brand with strong player scores and a founder who publicly took responsibility for a $4 million loss, set against an offshore licence, shifting operator names, unresolved complaints and no solvency proof. Nothing we opened shows a regulator, court or police finding against it. The evidence is not enough for a Good rating and not bad enough for a Poor one. Anyone who needs a regulated dispute route should look elsewhere.

A note for UK readers

MetaWin is not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, and both CryptoSlate and Complete Sports list the United Kingdom as a restricted country. UK players are therefore outside GAMSTOP and UKGC protections on such sites, and we do not explain or suggest ways round a country block. On crypto in general: balances move with the market, transfers are final, you are often paid in the coin you deposited, and bonuses carry wagering rules. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over, and help is available from BeGambleAware. Never treat winnings as income.

FAQs

Is MetaWin legit?

MetaWin is a real, operating casino with a stated Anjouan licence, but "legit" depends on what you need. It scores 3.9 on Trustpilot from 401 reviews and 6.7 on AskGamblers, yet it has an offshore licence, a 2024 hack and unresolved complaints. We rate it Mixed.

Was MetaWin hacked?

Yes. On 3 November 2024 its Ethereum and Solana hot wallets lost about $4 million, per Casino.org. Founder Richard Skelhorn confirmed it and said he would cover the loss personally. CryptoSlate says affected balances were made whole, but we found no independent audit confirming that.

Does MetaWin accept UK players?

No, going by the sources we opened. CryptoSlate and Complete Sports both list the United Kingdom as a restricted country. MetaWin is not UKGC licensed, so UK players would be outside GAMSTOP and UKGC protections. We do not suggest ways round the block.

How long do MetaWin withdrawals take?

CryptoSlate says instant, but AskGamblers is inconsistent, saying pending times can reach four days in its text while its table lists 0 to 24 hours. It also reports withdrawal fees and a $10 minimum. Trustpilot reviewers mention blocked funds, so speed varies by player.

Is the $METAWIN token the same as MetaWin casino?

No, according to the March 2026 presale announcement. It names TropiChain Inc. of Panama as issuer and says MetaWin.com is an independent ecosystem partner, not the issuer or sponsor. The announcement also warns holders could lose all their capital.

What licence does MetaWin hold?

It states Anjouan (Union of the Comoros) licence ALSI-202602025-FI1, which CryptoSlate repeats. Anjouan is an offshore licensor with limited player-dispute routes. We could not open the register, and AskGamblers still names a different operator, Asobi N.V.
