Three modes change what the game retains
Mental 2's bonus modes differ in retained features, not merely in their names. Bloodletting starts with sticky Fire Frames and Fire Reels. Surgery adds the Dead Multiplier system. ExperiMENTAL changes how its collected count behaves, allowing transferred values to remain available rather than being used up in the same way. Those distinctions explain why apparently similar spins can resolve differently.
The official product page checked on 13 October 2026 describes natural triggers of three Cognitive scatters for eight Bloodletting spins, one additional Disembodied scatter for nine Surgery spins, and two for ten ExperiMENTAL spins. Those are the initial natural awards, not a promise that any purchased feature uses an identical setup. Read the rules attached to the exact mode being described.
A mode comparison you can use beside a clip
| Mode | Initial natural award | Key retained feature |
|---|---|---|
| Bloodletting | 8 spins | Fire Frames and Fire Reels |
| Surgery | 9 spins | Dead Multiplier with a count that is consumed on transfer |
| ExperiMENTAL | 10 spins | Dead Multiplier count does not decrement on transfer |
A comparison needs the mode name, not just the caption 'Mental bonus'. The original Mental is a separate title. A stream description can abbreviate Mental 2 or refer to a booster rather than one of these bonus rounds. Confirm the title shown inside the game and the feature label before borrowing numbers from a review.
The table isolates the differences most likely to explain a clip. It is not a complete paytable. Symbol-level conditions, extra-spin awards and upgrades still belong to the current rules. A screenshot of a finished result also cannot show whether the round began naturally, was bought directly or upgraded after it started.
Purchase cost means multiple times the base stake
The provider's Mental 2 affiliate sheet lists Bloodletting at 100x the base bet, Surgery at 250x and ExperiMENTAL at 1,800x. It separately lists Lucky Draw at 330x and God Mode at 6,666x. These are international feature specifications, not an offer of access in every jurisdiction, and this guide is not a purchase recommendation.
| Feature | Multiple | At £0.20 base stake | At £1 base stake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bloodletting | 100x | £20 | £100 |
| Surgery | 250x | £50 | £250 |
| ExperiMENTAL | 1,800x | £360 | £1,800 |
| Lucky Draw | 330x | £66 | £330 |
| God Mode | 6,666x | £1,333.20 | £6,666 |
The pound figures are arithmetic examples using the published multiples. They do not assert that a particular British casino offers those purchases. Multiplying a price by the base stake translates the cost; it says nothing about the chance of recovering it. A 100x payout and a 100x entry fee are different items on the account ledger.
Separate an award multiple from a session profit
A hypothetical £0.20 base stake with a £50 Surgery entry illustrates why clips need the amount charged. If the settled feature award were £30, the difference between that award and that purchase would be minus £20, even though the award equals 150 times the base stake. This is an invented example for reading a result, not a recorded feature or an expectation.
The same comparison applies when a video begins with the reels already running. A caption showing '150x' omits the entry cost unless the feature label and payment are also visible. Compare pounds with pounds or multiples with multiples on the same denominator. Do not subtract a monetary cost from a multiplier, or treat a returned amount as net profit without counting what was paid.
Dead Multiplier count is a record, not an extra stake
In Surgery, think of the Dead Multiplier record as a named symbol value paired with a remaining count. ExperiMENTAL changes the count's persistence. This reading aid explains the display without recreating the entire feature specification. The provider's detailed rules should decide which symbol appearance can receive a stored value.
Imagine an abstract record labelled 'value 15, remaining uses 3'. A system that decrements on use would show two remaining after one qualifying transfer; a system that retains the count would still show three. Those invented labels explain the difference between consumption and persistence. They are not a Mental 2 payout simulation, because a valid award also requires the game's actual symbol conditions and winning rules.
Watch the record before and after a qualifying event rather than assuming every patient on screen receives the number. An animation can display an intermediate state while other mechanics are still resolving. The final award is the useful accounting figure; a stored value is a condition in the rules.
Booster prices are not bonus-mode prices
Mental 2's provider sheet distinguishes feature purchases from boosters. A tile that guarantees a particular mechanic on a charged spin is not necessarily entry to Bloodletting, Surgery or ExperiMENTAL. Identify whether the screen says that a mode begins or that a modifier applies to the next paid round.
Repeatedly activated paid settings also require a different cost reading from a one-off entry. If an illustrative modifier costs six times a 20p base stake, the charged spin is £1.20. Ten such charged rounds would total £12, irrespective of whether a bonus appears. This example explains units and cumulative cost only; it does not recommend the setting or predict its outcome. Check the confirmation amount and whether the option stays active.
Why 249 and 269 must not become one statistic
The public Mental 2 page shows a free-spin frequency of one in 249. The affiliate sheet encountered during our research shows a different value, one in 269. We will not average them, silently choose a convenient number or use either to promise a bonus after that many spins. The source or configuration behind the difference needs clarification.
A natural trigger frequency is also not the odds of a specific purchased mode producing a particular payout. Record the source, date, mode and version with a statistic. Our RTP guide explains how to inspect the information supplied with a game. A product-page headline cannot establish the setting inside your casino account, and a short demo run cannot reliably resolve a disagreement between documents.
Compare a cost with the correct award denominator
A game can display a base stake throughout a feature even though the amount charged for entry is much larger. In an invented example, £100 charged at a £1 base stake is 100 base-stake units. A final award of £70 is 70 units. Subtracting those consistent units gives minus 30 units, or minus £30. Writing only '70x win' would hide the transaction's cost.
The same units test helps when clips use different currencies. Convert a cost and an award together, with the same exchange-rate context, or leave both in the currency shown. Do not compare one creator's dollar result with another person's pound charge as though the amounts were already equivalent. A denomination conversion also cannot establish equivalent configurations or outcomes. It simply makes the amount at risk legible before any wider comparison is attempted.
UK menus and a useful stopping point
A provider demo or an international stream can display purchase controls absent from a UK-facing version. That absence is not evidence that your account is malfunctioning. The Commission has instructed operators to remove slot feature-buy facilities, and suppliers can distribute versions with different available controls.
Use our UK bonus-buy explanation for the distinction between an in-game purchase and a casino promotional bonus. Do not look for location workarounds to reproduce a streamer's menu. If the local information panel does not document a feature, treat the international specification as context, not a control you can expect to use. Reading the rules is useful; purchasing a round is not necessary to understand them.
Fire Frames & Fire Reels
Fire Frames: Randomly, 1 to 13 positions on the reels in the main game may turn into a Fire Frame. Any symbol that lands in a Fire Frame will split into 2 parts.
Fire Reels: Randomly, 1 to 5 reels in the game may turn into a Fire Reel. Any symbol that lands in a Fire Reel will split into 3 parts.
Dead Patients
Gets activated when there are 2 Dead Patient symbols.
It reveals one of the Patient symbols with a random multiplier: x5, x10, x15, x30, x50, x100, x200, x500, x1,000, x9,999.
Multiplier value reflects the symbol count on that reel.
Enhancer Cells
Enhancer Cells are located at the bottom of reels 2, 3, and 4. The more Fire Frames that appear, the more Enhancer Cells get activated:
- 4 Fire Frames activate the Reel 2 Enhancer Cell.
- 6 Fire Frames activate Reel 2 and Reel 4 Enhancer Cells.
- 8 Fire Frames activate all 3 Enhancer Cells (on reels 2, 3, and 4).
A Fire Reel is considered as 2 or 3 Fire Frames for the Enhancer Cell activation, depending on the size of the reel it’s on.
Each Enhancer Cell can reveal one of below symbols:
Wild: The regular Wild symbol.
xSplit®: Splits one symbol on each reel and double those symbols, it splits itself into 2 Wilds.
xNudge® Wild:
- Always nudges to fully visible on the reel.
- For every step the Nudge® Wild nudges, the win multiplier increases by 1.
- Several Wild multipliers add to each other for a total Wild multiplier.
- When an xNudge® Wild is split by an xSplit®, the multiplier on the Nudge® Wild increases by 1.
Patient Symbol: One of the 5 Patient symbols.
xWays®:
- Reveals 3 symbols of the same kind and expand the reel(s) height.
- It can reveal any paying symbol.
- If more than one xWays® symbol, then all xWays® symbols will reveal the same symbol.
xHole™
Activated when xHole™ symbol lands in a Fire Frame or a Fire Reel on the second position of the third reel.
Only regular paying symbols and the Wild symbol are drawn from the main reels, then scattered to random positions and their current sizes are multiplied by either x2, x4 or x8. In case of xNudge® Wild, it only modifies it’s win multiplier. xHole™ then converts to Wild.
Winning symbols before xHole™ sucks, goes back to the same position.
If xHole™ lands outside a Fire Frame or a Fire Reel then it will not activate.
Saved Dead Patient multipliers will not be applied after xHole™ feature.
xMental™
Activated when an xMental™ symbol lands in a Fire Frame or a Fire Reel anywhere on the reel area. This triggers an extra spin with the following features:
- All reel positions will get Fire Frames.
- Enhancers will reveal xWays®, xNudge® Wild, or xSplit®
- Possibility of triggering xHole™.
If xMental™ lands outside a Fire Frame or a Fire Reel then it will not activate.
Mental Transform
Landing Disembodied Scatter symbol on reel 2 or reel 4 in the game triggers the Mental Transform feature.
Disembodied Scatter symbol gets transformed to one of the following symbols: xWays®, xSplit®, Dead Patient, Wild or Patient symbol.
Scatters
Cognitive Scatter symbols can only appear on reels 1, 3, and 5 in the main game.
Disembodied Scatter symbols can only appear on reels 2 and 4.
Scatter Symbol Combinations:
- Landing 3 Cognitive Scatter symbols triggers 8 Bloodletting Spins.
- Landing 3 Cognitive Scatter symbols and 1 Disembodied Scatter symbol triggers 9 Surgery Spins.
- Landing 3 Cognitive Scatter symbols and 2 Disembodied Scatter symbols triggers 10 ExperiMENTAL Spins.
Extra Spins for bonus rounds:
- Each Scatter symbol landing in a Fire Frame awards +1 spin.
- Each Scatter symbol landing in a Fire Reel awards +2 spins.
Bloodletting Spins
Fire Frames and Fire Reels remain sticky throughout the bonus round.
Landing 1 Disembodied Scatter symbol upgrades the remaining spins to Surgery Spins and awards +1 spin.
Landing 2 Disembodied Scatter symbols upgrades the remaining spins to Experimental Spins and awards +2 spins.
Surgery Spins
In addition to the Bloodletting Spins features, Disembodied symbol gets sticky and triggers Mental Transform feature for each spin.
Dead Multiplier: The highest Multiplier from each Dead Patient Symbol is collected with its ‘Count’. Count signifies the number of a particular Patient symbols revealed.
For example: If 3 Patient (1) symbols are revealed with Multipliers x5, x10 and x15 a then Patient(1) would get collected with Multiplier: x15 and Count: 3.
Once collected, the Dead Multiplier would be transferred to their respective Patient symbols based on the Count when a new collected Patient symbol appears on the reels.
For example: If Patient (1) has a Multiplier: x15 and Count: 3, first 3 occurrences of Patient (1) gets x15 Multiplier.
Every time a Dead multiplier is transferred to a Patient symbol, the Count decrements by 1. Dead multiplier does not transfer to a symbol revealed from Dead Patient symbol
Landing 1 new Disembodied Scatter symbol upgrades the remaining spins to Experimental Spins and awards +1 spin.
ExperiMENTAL Spins
In addition to the Surgery Spins features, both Disembodied symbols gets sticky and triggers Mental Transform feature for each spin.
The Dead Multiplier count for the Patient symbols does not decrement after its transfer to a Patient symbol. It keeps building up with new Dead Patient symbol reveal.

The Max Win can also be achieved instantly in the main game by landing one xGod® symbol on each reel in a single spin.
FAQs
How much does the Mental 2 bonus buy cost?
The provider's affiliate sheet lists Bloodletting at 100x, Surgery at 250x and ExperiMENTAL at 1,800x the base stake. At an illustrative 20p stake those prices are £20, £50 and £360. These describe the international specification, not availability in Great Britain or a forecast of the amount returned.
What is different about ExperiMENTAL Spins?
ExperiMENTAL changes the persistence of the Dead Multiplier count: the provider says it does not decrement after transfer. Surgery consumes the count on qualifying transfers. That changes what can remain available during the feature, but it is not a guarantee of a profitable result. Check the game's rules for the exact qualifying symbol conditions.
Does Mental 2 give a bonus every 249 spins?
No. A published frequency is not a scheduled award. The current public page shows one in 249, while the affiliate sheet found in this research shows one in 269. Keep the source and version attached to those figures; neither should be used as a countdown or merged with purchase-mode odds.
Why can I not buy Mental 2 features in my UK game?
UK-facing slot versions do not offer the same feature-buy facilities shown in international specifications. The Commission has instructed operators to remove such facilities. A missing purchase tile need not be a fault with your account. Read the local rules and do not treat a provider demo as a route around those restrictions.
