Ding Dong Death

A five-level Death Meter, xNudge Wilds and a 14,280x cap from Nolimit City

Ding Dong Death overview

Ding Dong Death is a Nolimit City avalanche slot set in a macabre clubhouse where the characters have been acting strangely since they died. Its central mechanic is a five-level Death Meter that fills as symbols collapse, and the official Ding Dong Death page lists a maximum payout of 14,280 times the base bet.

Nolimit City lists the RTP at 96.08% and the bet range at €0.20 to €100.00, with the grid shown as 3-3-3-3-3-3. Wins are built through avalanches, where winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in, so a single spin can run through several collapses.

The theme is black comedy, but the mechanics are the real draw. Between the Death Meter, the Knock Knock feature, xNudge Wilds and a stack of boosters, there is a lot to learn, and this guide takes it in the order you will meet it.

How the Death Meter works

The Death Meter has 5 levels and is active in both the main game and the bonus modes. Every 3rd avalanche unlocks a level, which converts all instances of a designated character symbol type into Wilds for the rest of the round.

Level 5 is the important one. The first time it unlocks, it sets the global win multiplier to x2, and every later unlock adds +1 to that multiplier. Level 5 may also trigger one of three features, after which it locks again: Mental Patient, xSplit Wild or xNudge Wild.

The practical point is that long avalanche chains matter more than any single win. A spin that collapses three times unlocks one level, six times unlocks two, and each level permanently turns another character into Wilds until the round ends.

The three Level 5 features

The Mental Patient feature randomly selects a low-paying symbol and transforms it, with all its instances, into a Mental Patient symbol. It is the same symbol the Knock Knock feature creates, so you will see it in more than one place.

The xSplit Wild feature takes one or more Character Wild symbols and turns them into xSplit Wilds. Each one splits and doubles all symbols in its row, except Scatter symbols. If an xNudge Wild is split, its multiplier is doubled.

The third option converts one or more Character Wild positions into xNudge Wilds, covered below. Once any of the three has fired, Death Meter level 5 locks again, so you need further avalanches to reach it a second time.

xNudge Wilds and multipliers

An xNudge Wild drops to the bottom position when it lands, adding +1 to its payout multiplier for each symbol it passes over. Once it reaches the bottom it expands to cover the entire reel, and as it expands upward only split symbols raise its multiplier further.

Multiple consecutive xNudge Wild multipliers are added together into a single total. The game gives the example x3 plus x1 equals x4. Importantly, the xNudge Wild multiplier applies only to wins that involve that xNudge Wild, so it is not a global boost like the Death Meter multiplier.

A standard Wild substitutes for any symbol except the Scatter. Because Scatters trigger the bonus, no Wild can complete a bonus on your behalf.

Knock Knock

Knock Knock is a main game feature that triggers when 3 or more of the same kind of symbol align horizontally with no winning combination. It turns an otherwise dead spin into a collapse.

The triggering symbols are removed and Mental Patient symbols appear in the middle positions of the alignment. If a replaced middle position had a multiplier, that multiplier transfers to the Mental Patient symbol. Every other symbol then explodes except Scatter, Wild and the Mental Patient, starting a new collapse.

The new collapse gives the round another chance to win, so Knock Knock is the game's answer to a non-winning spin.

Ding Dong Spins and Ding Dong Death Spins

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols awards 7, 9 or 11 Ding Dong Spins. The Death Meter and the global win multiplier do not reset when the round begins, and landing a Scatter during the feature awards +1 spin.

Six Scatters award 13 Ding Dong Death Spins, the top tier. All Ding Dong Spins features are active, and each unlocked Death Meter level increases the global win multiplier by +1. Unlike other game modes, Level 5 simply adds +1 to the multiplier. Any xNudge Wild multiplier that takes part in a win is added to the global win multiplier as well.

Because the meter carries over, how the main game was progressing when you triggered the bonus has a direct effect on how the bonus starts.

Boosters and the xTra Spin

Nolimit City offers several paid options, priced in multiples of the base bet. Bonus Booster costs 2 times the base bet and makes Ding Dong Spins or Ding Dong Death Spins 3 times more likely to trigger.

The Death Meter options guarantee a level: level 3 costs 50 times the base bet, level 4 costs 100 times and level 5 costs 200 times. The level 5 option raises the global multiplier by +1 from the second level 5 unlock onwards. The xNudge Booster costs 300 times the base bet and guarantees an xNudge Wild on reel 3 or 4.

The xTra Spin is separate. At the end of some rounds you may be offered a chance to buy an additional spin that keeps the Death Meter levels and win multiplier. Its cost is calculated from those, and it is offered only if the cost is less than or equal to the total win. Paid options increase the cost of play, and availability varies by operator and jurisdiction.

Max win: 14,280x

The maximum payout is 14,280 times the base bet. Nolimit City titles the rule Knock Knock Who's There?, and when the total win exceeds the figure the round ends and exactly 14,280 times the base bet is awarded.

The cap sits on top of a layered multiplier system, with the global multiplier, xNudge Wild multipliers and splits all able to stack, so it is better read as a limit on stacking than as a typical result. Hitting it is extremely unlikely.

What to look for in the demo

Start by tracking the Death Meter. Count how many avalanches it takes to reach each level and which characters turn Wild, because that tells you how fast a round can ramp up.

Then check three things: how often Knock Knock rescues a no-win spin, what the first Level 5 unlock does to the global multiplier, and how the xNudge Wild multiplier compares with the global one when you reach the bonus. A demo uses virtual credits and cannot predict real results. This game is for adults aged 18 and over, so play within limits you set in advance.

FAQs

What is the RTP of Ding Dong Death?

Nolimit City lists the RTP of Ding Dong Death at 96.08% on its official game page. That is a long-run average over a very large number of spins and does not predict a single session. Check the game information screen at your operator, as RTP settings can vary between sites.

What is the max win in Ding Dong Death?

The maximum payout is 14,280 times the base bet. Once a round's total win exceeds that amount, the round ends and exactly 14,280 times the base bet is awarded. Reaching the cap is extremely unlikely, so treat it as a ceiling on the multiplier stacking rather than an expectation.

How do you trigger Ding Dong Spins?

Land 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols to receive 7, 9 or 11 Ding Dong Spins. The Death Meter and global win multiplier do not reset in the bonus, and each extra Scatter adds +1 spin. Six Scatters trigger the 13 Ding Dong Death Spins instead.

How does the Death Meter work in Ding Dong Death?

The 5-level Death Meter unlocks a level on every 3rd avalanche, turning all instances of a designated character symbol into Wilds for the round. Level 5 sets the global win multiplier to x2 the first time, then adds +1 on each later unlock, and may trigger one extra feature.

Can you buy features in Ding Dong Death?

Yes, there are boosters. Bonus Booster costs 2 times the base bet, Death Meter levels 3, 4 and 5 cost 50, 100 and 200 times, and the xNudge Booster costs 300 times. They raise the cost of each spin, and availability depends on your operator and jurisdiction.

Is there a Ding Dong Death demo?

Yes, Nolimit City offers a demo of Ding Dong Death that uses virtual credits. It is the best way to see how the Death Meter and xNudge Wilds behave. Demo results do not reflect real-money outcomes, and real play is for adults aged 18 and over.
