Slayers Inc is a Hacksaw Gaming slot set in a dystopian cyberpunk metropolis. Its concealed cast of slicing slayers battles across a 5-reel, 4-row grid, with wins evaluated on 14 paylines.

The game is built around the Slayer DuelReels™ mechanic, which can turn individual reels Wild and attach multipliers to line wins. Slayers Inc has a listed volatility of 5/5 and a maximum win of 15,000 times the bet. According to the game information, that maximum is available in every game mode.

Rather than using clusters or an all-ways system, Slayers Inc works with 14 fixed winning lines across its 5x4 layout. The Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols included in the paytable.

The 5/5 volatility rating is worth keeping in mind when testing the demo. A longer sample provides more opportunity to observe how the VS symbols, free-spin scatters and different bonus modes interact than a brief run of individual spins.

A VS symbol does not expand simply because it lands. It expands only when doing so makes it part of a win. The symbol then covers its entire reel and reveals two slayers carrying different multiplier values. After the duel, the surviving slayer's multiplier is applied across the reel, which also becomes fully Wild.

Possible multipliers are 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x and 500x. When more than one duel contributes to the same win, the multiplier values are added together before the resulting total is applied to the line wins.

Only one VS symbol can land on each reel at a time. If a VS symbol appears on all five reels and expands across the grid, the complete grid is treated as Wild.

Landing three FS scatter symbols together in the base game triggers Rise of the Syndicate with 10 free spins. This is the first of the three standard bonus modes and comes with a higher chance of landing VS symbols.

The feature can award extra spins when multiple FS symbols land at the same time. Two FS symbols add two free spins, while three FS symbols add four.

Four FS scatter symbols in the base game activate Wild Slayers with 10 free spins. The mode retains the base-game mechanics while adding the possibility of triggering Slicer whenever a VS symbol lands.

When activated, Slicer selects a random row and fills that entire row with Wild symbols. Retriggers follow the same structure as Rise of the Syndicate: two FS symbols award two extra spins, and three FS symbols award four.

Landing five FS scatter symbols at the same time triggers One Slayer to Slay Them All, again beginning with 10 free spins. It carries over the mechanics found in Wild Slayers, but both Slayer DuelReels™ and Slicer are guaranteed to activate on every spin.

FS symbols do not appear during this feature, so additional spins are not awarded through the standard scatter retrigger rules.

The Best of Bonus symbol appears only in the base game. Landing it alongside the required number of FS scatters activates a Best of Bonus version of the corresponding feature. Three FS symbols trigger Best of Rise of the Syndicate, four trigger Best of Wild Slayers, and five trigger Best of One Slayer to Slay Them All.

Each Best of Bonus feature plays three rounds in sequence. The result from every round is recorded on a scoreboard outside the grid. Once the third round ends, only the highest of the three recorded values is awarded.

The demo is useful for seeing the difference between a regular VS landing and a VS symbol that expands because it forms part of a win. It also shows how a winning duel converts a reel to Wild and how multiple duel multipliers are combined.

For the bonus modes, note the progression from an increased chance of VS symbols in Rise of the Syndicate, to possible Slicer Wild rows in Wild Slayers, and finally guaranteed DuelReels and Slicer activations in One Slayer to Slay Them All. The Best of Bonus format should also be read carefully, since it awards the highest result from three rounds rather than adding all three results together.
