Shaolin Master at a glance

Shaolin Master is a Hacksaw Gaming slot built around cluster wins, cascades and wild multiplier symbols called Chi Orbs. A winning cluster removes its contributing symbols after the current wins have been awarded, allowing replacements to fall into the grid.

The feature set branches into two distinct bonuses. The Student uses free spins, reel multipliers and Green Chi Orbs, while The Master replaces the regular symbols with Stone blocks and operates with three refilling lives.

How cascades extend a round

Every winning cluster clears from the grid once its award has been calculated. New symbols then cascade into the empty positions, where they can form another win and start an additional cascade.

These follow-up wins matter because Blue and Red Chi Orbs remain on the grid until the round finishes. A sequence of cascades can therefore give the same Orb more than one opportunity to increase or apply its multiplier.

Blue, Red and Balance Chi Orbs

The Blue Chi Orb begins at 1x and gains another 1x each time it contributes to a cluster win. The Red Chi Orb also starts at 1x, but its increase is based on the size of the winning cluster. It gains 1x for every symbol involved, including any Chi Orbs.

The Balance Chi Orb can appear only during a cascade. Its multiplier is the product of the Red and Blue Chi Orb values currently on the grid. When it contributes to a win, that value is applied before the Balance Orb disappears with the other winning symbols.

If several Chi Orbs contribute to the same cluster, their values are multiplied together before being applied. Blue and Red Orbs are not removed with winning symbols during cascades, although every remaining Chi Orb is cleared at the end of the round.

The Student free spins

The Student activates with 10 free spins when three FS scatter symbols land together in the base game. Landing four FS scatters awards 12 free spins instead. Regular paying symbols remain available during the feature, joined by a Green Chi Orb and a Green Gem multiplier modifier.

A separate multiplier sits below each reel. Winning clusters increase these counters by 1x for every winning symbol positioned on the corresponding reel. Green Gem modifiers can then multiply a reel counter by x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9 or x10.

A Green Chi Orb activates the multiplier beneath the reel where it lands. Activated values become global, with their combined total multiplying every winning cluster. Each activation adds three spins, and no more than one Green Chi Orb can land on each reel. The maximum value for each multiplier is 9999x.

The Master and its refilling lives

Five FS scatter symbols activate The Master with three refilling lives. The base-game symbols are replaced by Stone blocks, and each reel has a multiplier positioned above it.

Multiplier Modifier Blocks can either add to or multiply the reel values. Blue Gem and Epic Blue Gem blocks use adding values from 2x to 10x. Green Gem and Epic Green Gem blocks use multiplying values from x2 to x10. Normal and Epic variants determine whether the effect applies to the landing reel or across all multipliers.

Each reel multiplier has a maximum value of 9999x. The resulting values are transferred to Multiplier Blocks that enter and accumulate on the grid.

How the Master block stack develops

When an Ice block enters the grid, it is crushed and replaced by a Multiplier Block from above the reel. The new block carries the current value of that reel's multiplier. At the end of each drop, Multiplier Blocks fall to the bottom and stick in place, gradually filling the grid.

Crusher Blocks take a different route. A Crusher falls through other blocks, destroying every Multiplier Block in its path. Once it reaches the bottom, it becomes a new Multiplier Block worth the combined value of all the blocks it destroyed.

Landing a Multiplier Block, Multiplier Modifier Block or Crusher Block resets the remaining lives to three. Three consecutive spins without one of these blocks end the feature. The final payout is the sum of all Multiplier Blocks multiplied by the bet level.

What to watch in the free demo

The Shaolin Master demo provides a practical way to follow how the multiplier systems differ. During regular rounds, watch whether Blue and Red Chi Orbs become part of repeated cluster wins and how their persistent values interact with a Balance Chi Orb on a later cascade.

In The Student, the key sequence is reel multiplier growth, Green Gem modification and Green Chi Orb activation. An activated value applies globally, so the combined total can be more important than the counter beneath any single reel.

For The Master, follow the multipliers above the reels separately from the blocks stored below. Modifier Blocks build the reel values, Ice blocks introduce Multiplier Blocks, and Crusher Blocks can reorganize the stack while preserving the combined value of the blocks they remove.

A feature set built around accumulation

Shaolin Master's main systems share one theme but reach it in different ways. The base game develops Chi Orbs during cascades, The Student activates and combines reel multipliers, and The Master converts reel values into a final stack of Multiplier Blocks.

The details worth checking are the different growth rules for Blue and Red Chi Orbs, the cascade-only appearance of the Balance Orb, and the reset conditions that keep The Master running. Understanding those rules makes the changing multiplier displays easier to read in the demo.
