Rusty & Curly at a glance
Rusty & Curly is a Hacksaw Gaming slot set around the muddy roads of Dorkville. Its Western cast includes the title characters alongside Crispy & Chewy, but the main focus is a layered set of Wild mechanics rather than the setting alone.
The game uses 5 reels and 4 rows with payline wins. Semi-sticky Wild Poster symbols can generate respins, while multiplier Wild Reels play a central role in the bonus rounds. The stated maximum win is 10,000 times the bet and can be achieved through the Stick To The Plan! and Who Shot The Sheriff? bonus games.
How Wild Posters extend a spin
A Wild Poster can land with Hearts, a multiplier, or a combination of both. As long as at least one Heart remains on a poster, it stays on the grid and awards another respin. Each poster can arrive with up to 3 Hearts and loses one Heart after every respin.
When a poster runs out of Hearts, it is removed on the following respin. In the base game, its random multiplier can be 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x or 10x. The remaining Heart count therefore determines how long a poster can continue to affect the grid.
FS symbols and the progress bar
FS symbols that land during the Wild Poster respins are collected in the progress bar above the grid. Reaching a total of 3 or 4 collected FS symbols awards a bonus.
This collection mechanic gives the poster sequence a second purpose beyond holding Wilds in place. When testing the demo, it is worth following both the Hearts on each poster and the FS total in the bar, since they track separate parts of the respin sequence.
Stick To The Plan: six free spins
Landing 3 FS scatter symbols in a single base-game spin activates Stick To The Plan! with 6 free spins. This feature increases the chance of Wild Posters arriving with more Hearts and larger multipliers.
Available Wild Poster multipliers in this bonus are 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 25x, 50x and 100x. While a Wild Poster remains on the grid with at least one Heart, the game provides additional respins that do not reduce the number of awarded free spins. The FS symbol does not appear in this mode.
Who Shot The Sheriff: the Collect Phase
Landing 4 FS scatter symbols in one base-game spin triggers Who Shot The Sheriff? The feature awards 12 free spins divided into 3 Cycles. Each Cycle contains one Collect Phase spin followed by three Payout Phase spins.
During the Collect Phase, Rusty, Curly or both characters land and expand into a Wild Reel on a random reel. They then shoot between 1 and 6 times at multiplier values shown on the grid. The total value of the multipliers they hit is added to the corresponding Wild Reel for the Payout Phase.
The possible target values are 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x and 200x.
The Payout Phase and extra Cycles
The Payout Phase consists of three spins with paying symbols. Rusty and Curly Wild Reels remain sticky throughout these spins and carry the multiplier totals established during the preceding Collect Phase. Once all three Payout Phase spins are complete, the feature moves into the next Collect Phase.
Crispy & Chewy can also land during the Payout Phase and expand into Wild Reels. Unlike the Rusty and Curly versions, these reels have no multipliers and are not sticky.
Additional FS symbols can extend the feature. Landing 3 FS symbols at the same time awards one extra Cycle, while landing 4 together awards two extra Cycles.
Wild symbols and feature differences
The Wild Poster symbol substitutes for every symbol in the paytable. Wild Reels also substitute for all paytable symbols, although their behavior depends on the character and game mode involved.
Wild Posters use Hearts to control their duration and may carry multipliers. In Who Shot The Sheriff?, the Rusty and Curly Wild Reels are sticky during each Payout Phase and carry collected multipliers. Crispy & Chewy Wild Reels provide substitution without multipliers or sticky behavior.
What to watch in the free demo
The Rusty & Curly demo is useful for learning how the game moves between ordinary payline spins, poster respins and the two bonus formats. During Wild Poster sequences, watch the Heart counters, attached multiplier values and FS progress bar rather than treating every respin as an isolated event.
The bonus rounds should also be read differently. Stick To The Plan! expands the Wild Poster system with stronger possible multipliers and respins that do not consume free spins. Who Shot The Sheriff? uses a repeating Collect and Payout structure, with the multiplier Wild Reels prepared before each group of three paying spins.
