BitStarz is one of the longest-running bitcoin casinos, open since 2014, and today it is operated by Gareton B.V. under a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence that appears on the regulator's own register. It is a casino only, with no sportsbook: slots, live dealer tables and a small set of in-house provably fair games, paid for in crypto or, through e-wallets, in ordinary currency.
We list it in our crypto casino hub under Bitcoin casinos, Ethereum casinos, USDT and stablecoin casinos, altcoin casinos, crypto slots casinos, crypto live dealer casinos and instant withdrawal crypto casinos. The facts below are as of 11 October 2026.
A twelve-year-old bitcoin casino with a Curaçao licence confirmed on the regulator's register, steady reports of fast payouts and few complaints, though the licence is offshore and the owners are not named.
We rate crypto casinos from public sources only: the licence and what it covers, who owns it, what players report about withdrawals and complaints, how clear its terms are and how long it has been trading. Last reviewed 11 October 2026. How we rate crypto casinos.
The brand has outlived two operating companies. CryptoSlate records that BitStarz launched in 2014 under Direx N.V. (Curaçao registration 131879), working through a Cyprus subsidiary, Direx Limited, with a licence from Antillephone N.V. Between late 2020 and mid-2021 operations passed to Dama N.V. (registration 152125), with Friolion Limited of Limassol acting as agent.
When Curaçao's new gambling law took effect, Dama moved BitStarz onto its own CGA licence, OGL/2023/174/0082, which is still listed on the regulator's registry. Terms updated on 25 June 2025 name Gareton B.V. as the managing company, CryptoSlate reports, and the current footer gives Gareton's address as Landhuis Zuikertuin, Zuikertuintjeweg, Willemstad. One version of the footer also names Firmero Limited, a Cyprus company (HE 449597) in Limassol.
What is public is the chain of licensed companies; what is not is who ultimately owns them. We found no source naming the beneficial owners, which is common among Curaçao operators but still means players are trusting a brand rather than named people. The site itself describes BitStarz as the first multi-currency casino to offer play in dollars, euros and bitcoin side by side, a claim we have not seen independently tested.
BitStarz is built around slots. Counts vary: AskGamblers describes more than 7,900 titles and lists 75 providers, CryptoSlate gives 8,245+, and BitDegree, updated on 21 September 2026, says the site lists 6,500+. Casinos.com's Canadian reviewer counted about 3,700 at login, which suggests the library changes noticeably by country.
The in-house originals are a small part of the offer. Casinos.com counts about 15 provably fair games, including Plinko and Limbo, and BitDegree names Plinko, Mines and Tower. Casinos.com also describes "20 BitStarz", an exclusive slot made with Belatra that carries a progressive jackpot. Provably fair checks apply to the originals only; third-party slots rely on the provider's certified RNG, and slot RTPs can be configured differently from one casino to another.
Live dealer games come mainly from Evolution, with Lucky Streak also named, covering blackjack, roulette and game shows such as Crazy Time. There is no sportsbook, which BitDegree confirms. Regular promotions include Slot Wars, a weekly slots leaderboard that Casinos.com put at C$7,500 plus 5,000 free spins in August 2026, a Table Wars equivalent and Jackpotz Mania, which turns points into spins on selected games.
Fast crypto payouts are BitStarz's main reputation, and the published numbers back it up broadly. AskGamblers lists crypto and e-wallet withdrawals at 0 to 1 hours, bank and card withdrawals at 1 to 5 days, verification at 0 to 12 hours, a €50 minimum and no daily, weekly or monthly cap, though per-transaction limits apply. Casinos.com gives those per-transaction maximums as C$10,000 for fiat methods and C$50,000 for crypto.
Reviewers who have written up their own cashouts report minutes rather than hours: Casinos.com's reviewer recorded a Litecoin withdrawal arriving in 5 minutes 46 seconds. BitDegree says the site charges no fee of its own on crypto withdrawals. Fiat is handled through e-wallets such as Skrill, Neteller and MuchBetter or a buy-crypto option with cards, rather than direct bank deposits.
BitStarz is not a no-KYC casino. BitDegree says accounts can be opened without full details but ID is required before withdrawing and for some payment methods, and Casinos.com's reviewer reports verification clearing in about 12 hours after sending ID and a utility bill. AskGamblers complaints show what happens when it goes wrong: one player says an original deposit was kept after failed verification (rejected), and another titled "Having Verification Issues" was also rejected.
BitStarz holds a licence we could check. The Curaçao Gaming Authority's online gaming registry, dated 9 October 2026, lists OGL/2024/165/0185 for Gareton B.V. (company number 160656) as a B2C licence issued on 24 December 2025 with status "Indefinite". Neither Gareton nor Dama appears on the CGA's enforcement register of revoked or suspended licences, last updated on 14 September 2026.
A Curaçao licence is an offshore licence. The newer LOK regime is stricter than the old master-licence system, but player disputes still have limited routes, and the CGA was only consulting in 2025 on requiring certified mediators for unresolved complaints, GamblingNews reported. The register also carries its own warning that its overviews may not be fully up to date.
We found no published proof of reserves and no independent audit report for the originals beyond their provably fair mechanism. In news searches and the regulator's registers we found no fines, court cases, hacks or licence actions involving BitStarz or its current operator.
The welcome package is spread across four deposits. BitDegree lists it as 100% up to €100 or 1 BTC with 180 free spins on the first deposit, then 50%, 50% and 100% matches, for a total of up to €500 or 5 BTC plus 180 free spins; BitStarz's X profile advertises the 5 BTC version. Bonus money carries a 40x wagering requirement, and free spin winnings 40x too, according to CryptoSlate.
The VIP club is invite-only. Casinos.com lists 10% weekly cashback on losses, a 50% reload every Thursday, no cap on bonus cashouts for VIPs and faster withdrawals. Bonus rules are where BitStarz complaints cluster, so the terms of any offer matter more than its size.
We found no regulator action, court case, hack or shutdown on record for BitStarz. We checked the CGA's licence and enforcement registers, news coverage, AskGamblers, Trustpilot and the main crypto casino listings. The disputes that do exist are individual ones, mostly about bonus terms and account rules.
AskGamblers shows 26 complaints, 18 marked resolved and 8 rejected, with an average response time of one day. Its complaint list, which does not show dates, includes:
Trustpilot rates BitStarz 4.3 from 5,440 reviews, with 77% five-star and 15% one-star, and says the company replies to 97% of negative reviews. Trustpilot also notes that BitStarz has not recently invited customers to review, so the score may not be representative. Recent one-star reviews include a 4 October 2026 dispute over a roulette bet, where BitStarz replied that it cannot change a player's bet, and a September 2026 claim that an account was closed without funds being returned, which the company disputes.
The good
The bad
Our verdict: BitStarz has a strong record for an offshore crypto casino: a licence that checks out on the Curaçao register, twelve years without a regulator action or hack we could find, and steady reports of fast crypto payouts. The complaints that exist are mostly about bonus terms and duplicate-account rules, so read the terms of any offer before taking it. The licence is still offshore and the owners are not named, which is why Good here means a strong track record, not UK-style protection.
BitStarz does not accept UK players. The United Kingdom is on the restricted list reported by CryptoSlate and quoted from its terms in an AskGamblers complaint, and on 11 October 2026 the site showed a "Not available in your region" page to a UK connection. It holds no UK Gambling Commission licence, and a casino needs one to offer gambling to people in Great Britain.
Anyone playing on an offshore crypto casino is outside GAMSTOP and UKGC protections. Balances held in crypto rise and fall with the market, blockchain transfers cannot be reversed, winnings are often paid in the coin you deposited, and bonuses come with wagering rules. BitStarz is a long-running casino with a licence we could confirm: Gareton B.V. holds Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/165/0185, listed on the regulator's registry in October 2026. It has operated since 2014 with no regulator action or hack we could find, and most complaints concern bonus and account rules. We rate it Good.
BitStarz is operated by Gareton B.V., a Curaçao company (number 160656), which took over from Dama N.V.; Dama had succeeded the original operator, Direx N.V. The beneficial owners behind these companies are not publicly named in any source we found, so players are relying on the licensed company rather than named individuals.
Crypto withdrawals are usually reported in minutes. AskGamblers lists crypto and e-wallet payouts at 0 to 1 hours and bank or card payouts at 1 to 5 days, and one reviewer recorded a Litecoin withdrawal in under six minutes. There is no daily or monthly cap, but per-transaction limits apply, reported as C$50,000 for crypto.
Yes, before withdrawing. You can sign up and deposit without documents, but reviews say BitStarz asks for ID, and often proof of address, before paying out. AskGamblers lists verification at 0 to 12 hours. Failed verification is behind some rejected complaints, so check your documents match your account details.
No. The UK is on BitStarz's restricted country list, and the site showed a "Not available in your region" page to a UK connection in October 2026. BitStarz holds no UK Gambling Commission licence, and UK players on offshore crypto casinos are outside GAMSTOP and UKGC protections.
